Rested and Encouraged

I don’t know about my students, but I really needed that Labor Day weekend to catch up on rest! It’s rough to go from a flexible summer schedule to a strict school schedule so I understand the ups and downs my students experienced the past two weeks. I received some encouragement to add some extra pep in my step though! I signed up for a teacher Secret Santa program online and happened to be matched with a person who has a heart for art and also has a teenage niece that is the same age as many of my own students. I simply asked for a few drawing books and a week later, this package arrived!

I was sure to preserve the box since she had decorated it in such a fun way. Inside, my Secret Santa had packed seven brand new drawing books! I showed these to my students and they were excited to have these to check out during their ‘free draw’ times. I learned from books like these and I hope they do the same for my students. It’s simple gifts like these that encourage teachers and help children, and these gifts are very much appreciated!
